About

As they say,

It is the calling of the Land & this became a True Story for us back in 1996.

Our founder without seeing the land paid a token advance & he described his Vision.

During their drive from Wada to Mumbai he had just one idea in mind “To serve the needy and give back to the universe”

Mr Purshottam Bhardwaj Sharma, a firm believer of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (The world is one family). His concurrence to the sacred calling leads to this initiation for the tribal agricultural community, now known as SHIVAA NGO.

SHIVAA, which encapsulates our ideologies and endeavours as Shri Harihar Indian Village of Art and Agriculture. We strive towards the mental and ethical upliftment of tribal villagers through spiritual mediums and scriptural preachings.

We firmly believe that everyone deserves a fair chance in life. For the past 23 years, we have dedicated ourselves to helping elevate the lives of these distressed individuals. We have considered and applied a very diligent approach to encourage growth in more than 500 villages of Wada. We try our best in giving every villager a decent shot at achieving a sustainable growth.

We believe none should be stripped off of their ambitions and everyone should have particular aspirations in life. SHIVAA helps individuals from tribal areas and keeps their sense of hope alive. We take all our effort in helping these people thrive and attain a flourishing life. We give them the opportunity to bring their creativity alive.

Our core ideals make us stand among the best NGOs working for tribal development in Maharashtra. We make sure not to leave any stone unturned and offer help to every deserving farmer in accomplishing their goals.

Ruchi P. Sharma
(Co-Founder)

I have been associated with SHIVAA since 1996 and as I travel back in time the land was a calling to my father which with time has only helped us unfold the vision and mission of SHIVAA. Being amongst the top 50 design firms in India. RS.De-Ruchi S Design draws great inspiration from the old ancient techniques infusing it with western grandeur with an eclectic design sensibility. This has influenced her inclination towards promoting skill development acts at our campus and directing me in taking the founders dream forward.

My intervention recoursed the goals of our organisation and transformed it from Shri Harihar Socio-Spiritual Cultural Evolution Trust to SHIVAA (Shri Harihar Indian Village of Art and Agriculture) and discerning the true driving elements i.e. agriculture and skill development. SHIVAA will enable us to go back to our roots and help revive skilled techniques which India has always been known for by giving it a revival and not allowing these arts to die.

Purshottam Sharma
(Founder)

Mr. Purshottam Bharadwaj Sharma, born in Punjab, draws great inspiration from his parents. Following his father’s unforeseen demise when he was just a boy of 13, Mr. Sharma and his family moved to Mumbai. Mr. Sharma then went onto start two Petrochemical plants, one in Palgarh and the next in Wada.

After years of steadfastly building his business, Mr. Sharma still felt a yearning to do more. To serve more. He strongly believes in the Vedic philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, and began his journey from businessman to philanthropist to give back to society in whatever way he could. Mr. Sharma believes that each one of us has an intrinsic duty to help, assist and give back to the community around us. Thus came to life, the Shri Harihar Socio Spiritual Cultural Evolution Trust (later to be known as the Shivaa Foundation). He began imparting knowledge to the denizens of Wada, teaching them about Karma philosophy, sustainable living, and the fundamentals of human life.

Now, over two decades later, the Shivaa Foundation is plush with plantations, has incorporated key sustainable farming techniques and is a rehabilitation haven for distressed Wada locals. A lover of Vedic faith, chants, and sound energies, Mr. Sharma invites everyone to join him to pave the way towards a more sustainable, cooperative, joyous future.
